Patches 'n Pieces - a brief history: In 1978, a quilting instructor teaching at the Lynchburg Department of Recreation, Isabel Biller, started meeting regularly with a core group of six other women. Together they formulated a plan to start a quilt club. Officers were elected and on March 22, 1979, the Patches 'n Pieces bylaws were adopted. Other interested quilters soon joined and four decades later the club now has over 140 members and meet twice a month at the Calvary Baptist Church at 20957 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA. Join us on the first and third Fridays of each month at 10:00 a.m. (Note: the dates may change depending on the church's schedule) Weather Policy: We follow the Lynchburg City Schools schedule when there is questionable weather on a Club Meeting or Workshop date. If City schools are closed, there is no Club meeting. Please enter on the left side of the church (closest to McDonald’s) and drive around to the back to park. |
